Pia Hernandez - Piano and Composition
Nacho Szulga - Double Bass and Composition
Nicolás del Águila - Drums
(guest) Lucas Goicoechea- Tenor Saxophone on tracks 1, 2 & 4
The music of La Emperatriz is the result of the work, maturation, and construction of the identity of the Trio (with Nacho Szulga on double bass and Nicolás del Águila on drums) with which Pia released her first album "Lilith". On this occasion, the saxophonist Lucas Goicoechea participated as a guest.
La Emperatriz is an album that goes through different sonorities, textures, and intensities. In some tracks, the "chaos" and effervescence reach vigorous limits, while others have a subtle, fragile, spacious, and nostalgic spirit.
The album is not only named after one of the tracks but also invokes the Tarot card figure of "The Empress", a figure with which Pia is strongly linked.
Pia Hernandez is a pianist and composer born in 1989, in the city of Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina.

In addition, she participated in The Banff International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music (Canada) and SIM (USA) residencies. She has been repeatedly featured in the New York magazine "All About Jazz".
